Position:  Youth Director

Purpose:
The Youth Director at Concord Baptist Church (CBC) shall provide leadership in the development, coordination and, implementation of the youth program within the church and surrounding community. The youth program will provide for the spiritual growth and development of youth by helping students (ages 6th- 12th grade) develop a Biblical worldview and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Serve and support the vision, mission and strategic plans of the church.
  • Strategize, create and implement an action plan to develop a growing and vibrant ministry to youth that inspires students and their families to know and follow Jesus while developing a Biblical worldview that promotes cultural discernment.
  • Provide leadership to develop, plan and implement regular middle school and high school student Bible study, discipleship, and fellowship events in a safe (physically and emotionally) and engaging environment.
  • Create, coordinate, and lead/teach Bible Study sessions for youth on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights.
  • Plan, implement and attend opportunities for youth fellowship activities.  Such fellowship activities should also include devotions or lessons. 
  • Plan, implement and attend discipleship and/or evangelistic event(s) each year such as camps, retreats, and mission activities as approved by Sr Pastor and funded by CBC. 
  • Develop and lead activities that identify and reach unchurched youth and families in the local community.
  • Seek opportunities to integrate youth into broader participation in church life and events.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise volunteers to assist with the execution of youth training, classes, activities and events.  
  • Communicate with youth, parents, volunteers and the church regarding youth activities and events.
  • Plan and communicate volunteer schedules.
  • Publicize youth activities through appropriate avenues provided by the church. (e.g. newsletter, special mailings, posters, bulletin announcements, church web site, Facebook, etc.).
  • Provide reports at each scheduled business meeting on current and planned activities and goals.
  • Ensure volunteers are trained on and follow Georgia Child Protection Law and CBC policies.   Report any and all potential violations to CBC leadership immediately.
  • Develop and manage an annual budget for the Youth Program.   Manage the disbursement of budgeted funds within the guidelines of the approved budget and in adherence with CBC purchasing policies.
  • Other duties, tasks or responsibilities may be assigned that glorify our Lord, benefit church ministry and promote church growth that are legal, moral, ethical and supported under our Constitution and Bylaws.

Qualifications:
  • Have a contagious passion for Jesus Christ always acknowledging Christ as Lord and Savior.
  • Demonstrate a love and understanding for youth and a desire to see them become faithful followers of Jesus Christ.
  • Demonstrate ability to relate Bible teachings and applications to real life questions and situations that apply to youth and their families in an increasingly challenging culture.
  • Demonstrate ability to recruit, train, empower, and lead a team of youth ministry volunteers.
  • Experience working with youth (grades 6th to 12th) and demonstrate ability to interact and communicate with them and their families in order to build lasting, redemptive relationships.
  • Must understand and adhere to Baptist theology and practice.
  • Willing to become a member of CBC and reside in convenient location to CBC location, Concord, GA.
  • Possess a current and valid GA Driver’s License with clean driving record.  
  • Have obtained a High School Diploma.  Have prior positive experience and/or knowledge of youth ministry education and activity.  Demonstrate a knowledge of the Bible and its application for youth.  Having completed, or enrolled in, a secondary education in a related field is desirable.   

General Conditions of Employment;
Background Evaluation:
Applicant must consent to a background check on the church’s forms, a DMV driver’s check, and a test for substance abuse.  Any offer of employment is contingent upon satisfactory results being obtained in all three areas showing no history of criminal activity, evidence of safe driving history, and no evidence of substance abuse.
Position Type
Youth Director at Concord Baptist Church is a Part Time position (less than 30 hours weekly) that consist of weekly preparation and leading youth class presentation on Sunday Mornings and Wednesday evenings. Additional time may occasionally be required for CBC special events, youth family visitation/consultation, summer camps, youth related trips, etc. 
Supervision:  
The Youth Director shall be under supervision of the Senior Pastor.  Applicant upon acceptance of the position agrees to comply with CBC Constitution and Bylaws.
Performance Evaluation:  
The programs of the youth ministry will be overseen by the Senior Pastor who will regularly review the effectiveness and direction of the youth ministry.  The Youth Director will participate in an annual job performance review by the Senior Pastor, or as performance may require.
Probationary Period:
Employment will be considered probationary for 6 months.  Sr. Pastor to provide guidance and performance reviews during the probationary period as needed.
